Cause of everything going on this month it completely slipped my mind that the article I cowrote with John Bland was published in this months issue of MX Developers Journal.

The article is titled More OOP In Flash and is the first in a series explaining how to make a simple Flash slideshow application using AS2 and Flash Remoting. The article is targeted at the Flash newbie, so we walk them through everything from designing the UI to programming the app.

My contribution dealt with the UI design, and mainly focuses on introducing a beginner to Flash's basic drawing tools. The deadline was a little tight so it is not as in-depth as I would have liked, especially since I was wringing for someone that may just being using Flash for the first time, but I think I did a decent job explaining everything and it should give beginners a start with designing UIs in Flash. Check it out here, and let me know what you think.

Although this was my first article for MXDJ, hopefully it wont be my last. Unfortunately I am having a hard time getting my hands on a copy so if you live in Atlanta and spot it please let me know, or if you can mail me a copy that would be even better (either leave me a comment of email me and I'll send you my address)!
