Sky
For the last few months I have been subscribing to a car wash/detailing service, Sky Wash Detail.
Basically I pay $50.99 for unlimited washes or details, and have a choice of 6 different packages. Now before you begin to bash me for paying this much for a car wash think about it. To completely wash and detail the inside of your car it roughly takes around 1.5 - 2 hours (to do it right, or maybe I am just slow), and frankly I just don't care to spend that much time washing a vehicle.
So get to the point right!?! Well the point is experience matters. This car wash is about 20 mins North of me, off GA 400, and I am sure there are at least 10 other car washes I pass on my way up. But I choose to go with them because of the environment the "experience" I get when I hand them my keys and walk inside. You are greeted with 10 Macs (15" Powerbooks), 5 PCs, 3 Plasma TVs, Wireless Internet, a juice / water area "bar", nice leather chairs, and I heard they used to give out iPods for you to listen to while you wait. Everything, not just your car, is given special attention -- until you visit there website.
Today, was the first day that I pulled it up and it is just sad how bad it is. For a company that offers such a great experience when you come to them, they do a terrible job at creating any experience online except annoyance. The site opens up full screen (a huge pet-peeve of mine) to only use a very small portion of the screen, most of the global nav takes you nowhere (only downloads a PDF), an iFrame is used for NO reason at all, and the branding that is on their print material is almost nonexistent on the site! If I had never come to their location, and was only getting my information from the web this would be the last place I would bring my car. So while they have invested so much time and money making the store a beautiful place to wait, the print ads nice to look at and hold, the site was given no attention at all.
Anyway if you are looking for a great place to get your car detailed check out Sky, you will not be disappointed except from their site!

Hey sounds like perhaps you should trade a clean site for a clean car. Hey you could even work on the site while you waite. :)

I actually emailed them this morning regarding redoing the site. I was told that a new website is in the works and to stay tuned for a new and improved web presence.

When Garrett told me you were taking your car to Sky, I was somehow not suprised.
You should have gone there when they first opened. They offered this soy milk for free. After a week the trash cans full of old soy milk containers really gave the place a unique ambiance. LOL
Have your say
