I arrived in Austin yesterday after a two and a half hour flight from Atlanta. The weather here is really nice, sunny and upper 70's, so I took yesterday afternoon to stroll around the city and do a little sight seeing.

I am a little shocked, Austin is a lot smaller then I thought it was going to be. This is my first trip to Texas and all in all I would say it is a pretty nice place. The people are very friendly and helpful in recommending places to go and see while I am here.

The number one recommendation has been 6th street. From what I can tell it is the street that all the bars and clubs are on, probably wont visit there often, kinda over the all night party phase. But everyone says it should be experienced once if you are in Austin, so I will probably head out one night while I am here and see what all the fuss is about.

I have been extremely busy in the days leading up to SXSW, trying to get everything at work and with clients wrapped up and under control. So I took the opportunity last night just to relax and catch up on some much needed rest.

The hotel is set up with Hi Speed both in the room and wireless, although I am having trouble connecting via wireless (for some reason it sending me the wrong IP information, hopefully they will have this fixed soon!). On the down side it is not free, $9.95 a day, and since I am needing to be "on call" for work and keep up with emails, etc... I figure it is not too bad of a price, beats connecting via Bluetooth and my cell phone which I have had to do at past conferences. Regardless I will posting as much as possible keeping you informed on the events here at SXSW.

I just got back from picking up my registration ID and am looking for to tonight events. If you are in Austin and want to hang out, grab a bit to eat, whatever, hit me up via email, IM, or come by my room (Hilton #1213).
