Engineering Systems Inc Rebranding & Website

ESI is a world leader with over 25 years of experience in the engineering and scientific investigation field. Over the years, MaybeForYou has built several internal business applications for the company, and we were delighted when our studio was selected to rebrand the company, including a full redesign of their website.

Their main goals were: 1) update their visual identity to match the high-level services provided by the company, 2) create a unified brand experience customers have with the organization, 3) generate new leads through organic search, digital outreach, and sales collateral.

Roles on the Project

  • Research & Strategy

We began the project by scheduling a series of interviews with ESI’s executive team to better understand their goals and learn how they viewed the current brand and what they envisioned for the future. After establishing what was most important to the company's executives, I began interviewing the management team in each of the company’s departments. Once all key stakeholders within the company had been interviewed, I began talking with ESI's customers to validate our data and gain additional insights into how the organization was viewed from the outside.

Our team then got to work, creating a new visual identity for the company. After several options, we decided on a 3D mark showing the tight-knit integration of the team at ESI. Once the mark was defined, we flushed out the identity with updated typography and a refined color pallet.

The new website was the first place the new identity was used. Working from the information gathered in our Discovery Phase, I helped develop specific customer objectives and journeys through the site. This information lead the to the final sitemap and page templates.

I then lead our team in the design of the page templates, assisted with the front end development, and oversaw the technical integration with the Umbraco CMS.

Our team then documented our work in a Digital Style Guide, to ensure a consistent experience as the company began to build out other digital initiatives.

The result is a refreshed brand identity, marketing collateral, and responsive website that clearly articulates ESI’s as the leader they are. Customers can quickly browse services based on specific areas of expertise, and locate the most qualified engineers for the job.

The website has seen an increase in site traffic with users spending more time on each page. Best of all, this has allowed the company to reduce their SEO and SEM budget by more than 80%.

The business development team is equally as pleased as the information being sent out provides a more modern and professional feel.
